How sad is it that these people can’t get past their own bigotry* and ignorance? They’re well on their way to voting against their own interests and the interests of their children. These are the very people who will be negatively impacted by both McCain’s tax plan and health plan. And his plans for Medicare. And Social Security.

Obviously these people don’t represent all right-wingers or even most of them. And clearly the documentarians went out there with a mission to elicit certain responses. But you can’t make this stuff up.

*Most of this is ignorance, but the fact that these people think they know six-week-old Sarah Palin better than Barack Obama, despite the fact that he’s been doing this for two years, has written books about himself, and has been profiled extensively in publications across the country… well, that’s just prejudice. For some people, a black man will always be an unknown quantity. Or dangerous. Like dude who said Barack is a one-man sleeper cell. Come on.

    IMO, this is just thinly veiled racism. Since they can’t just come on out and say I can’t vote for this man because he’s black, they start ascribing to all types of innuendo in an attempt to hide their ignorance.

  • wow. one thing i noticed is all those people were white, and most of them were middle-aged or more. another thing that’s a pretty easy observation to make is that these people are not open to discussing issues. they are not open to talking about anything. they are closed-minded and open-mouthed, which i think everyone would agree is not a good way to go. *sigh* they are going to be really angry when they lose.

    it’s embarrassing, and i’m sure they are embarrassed by being put on the spot, which is why they answer with silly shit about his name and him being a terrorist. or perhaps, and i wouldn’t put this past someone, there’s someone who’s led them to believe that Obama is a terrorist.

    nevertheless, once again, we have the politics of fear, which worked great in 2000 and 2004. if it works again, i will quit my fed gov job and move to Canada. Americans should be smarter.
