Song (and video) of the Day (or night?)

This is just a little something I’ve been doing since I started blogging last year, and I hope you guys like it.  I try to aim for more low-key songs: stuff that isn’t terribly mainstream, but still somewhat familiar.  And these won’t be cross-posted; I will make sure to find a different song you folks.  Anyway, here is what I have for tonight:

The GZA – “I Gotcha Back”

Liquid Swords: Great hip-hop album, or greatest hip-hop album?  I lean towards the latter.

I dunno…GZA is like that legendary/mytical MC that cats in the know-how do respect for his talents and skills, bt outside that circle, nobody would know who until they mention Wu-Tang.

Kinda like how folks didn’t know who Vernon Jordan was until after the Monica Lewinsky thing

Liquid Swords was a great album. However in that first cycle of Wu-Tang Cuban Linx stands head and shoulders above the rest of them. I give Tical a strong second….I swear to God I listened to those two albums for like 2 years straight. Ahhh, memories.
