Random Midday Hotness: Miley Cyrus + The Roots. (Wait. What?)

So look: we have the same why-won’t-she-go-away relationship to Miley Cyrus that most reasonable folks do. But this version of her ubiquitous “We Can’t Stop” is pretty damn fun.

And the Roots have gotten good at these goofily, clever covers of other people’s songs. (I actually dig these Fallon versions of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” and Xtina’s “Your Body” better than the originals.)

It’s dope, right? She sounds weird, though.

  • But why do I still feel like I’m listening to a contemporary country station?

AND WHY WON’T SHE GO AWAY??!!

The Roots on Jimmy Fallon are amazing and I’m proud of them. I was able to enjoy that. they are doing somethin’. To be able to enhance pop music without succumbing to it is an art.
