Man I cannot believe she’s dead…was hoping she’d kick the drug habit and stage a dope come back. Too young, too soon.

    • i was late to the game. i played “back to black” on my commute to work for like a month straight. she was a beast.

god bless her life (c) hip-hop guys

I still don’t understand why they didn’t release Frank in the US. That would have been a really successful album here.

I agree with you regarding the Frank album. I assumed they would release it after the success of the Back To Black album. But then again Frank is a little more soulful jazzy whereas BTB was more a more soulful motown throwback.

But vocally the woman was top notch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4t5NspmZzA&feature=related

I remember she had a concert here in Chicago, tickets were $15. This was before Rehab blew up so it was pretty cheap. I wanted to go so bad but people were not really on Amy at the time and I missed it. I was kicking myself for not just going on my own. I was hoping for a comeback as well.

Luckily I got to see her at the Electric Factory in Philly in 2007 (the day after I got my wisdom teeth pulled – O, the agony and joy I experienced simultaneously that day).

you lucky man! im sure it was a good show. I saw a clip online of a recent performance she did, it was a comeback attempt. She was in really bad shape and strung out. It was sad to see her in that state.
