Friday Random 20: Two is a Crowd.

It’s possible to do bad all by yourself, true. But things can really turn ugly when two or more people are involved.

Of course, this thought occurred to me as I watched news coverage of the – allegedly – bipartisan health care reform summit yesterday.

Well, to hell with bipartisanship. Sometimes, teamwork can screw things up. Don’t believe me? Ask Whitney Houston.

If you want more proof, check out the list after the jump. We doubled up this weekend just to prove how bad redoubling your efforts really can be:

1. “Unleash the Dragon” by Sisqo featuring Beanie Sigel (R.A.B.)

* In the original version of the song, Beanie is handling the rhymes. I don’t know who those dudes in the video were.

2. “The Girl is Mine” by Michael Jackson featuring Paul McCartney (Jamelle)

3. “Rocket Experience” by Buzz Aldrin featuring Snoop Dogg and Soulja Boy (slb)

4. “I’m Your Angel” by Celine Dion featuring R. Kelly (Alisa)

5. “Where the Wild Roses Grow” by Kylie Minogue featuring Nick Cave (Quadmoniker)

6. “Dancing in the Street” by David Bowie featuring Mick Jagger (Belleisa)

7. “Wild Horses” by Alicia Keys and Adam Levine (Shani-o)

8. “The Gambler (remix)” byKenny Rogers featuring Wyclef Jean and Pharoahe Monch (Alisa)

9. “Over and Over” by Nelly featuring Tim McGraw (Blackink)

10. “Hollywood” by Jay-Z featuring Beyonce (R.A.B.)

11. “Down Low” by R. Kelly featuring Ronald and Ernie Isley (slb)

12. “Basketball Jones” by Barry White and Chris Rock (Jamelle)

13. “Whatzupwitu” by Eddie Murphy and Michael Jackson (Alisa)

14. “Anyone Who Ever Had a Heart” by Luther Vandross featuring Elton John (Shani-o)

15. “Carpetbaggers” by Jenny Lewis and Elvis Costello (Shani-o)

16. “Wild Wild West” by Will Smith featuring Kool Moe Dee and Dru Hill (R.A.B.)

17. “I’m Real” by Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule (Belleisa)

18. “Thug Lovin’” by Ja Rule featuring Bobby Brown (Belleisa)

19. “Little Drummer Boy” by David Bowie and Bing Crosby (Quadmoniker)

20. “Party All The Time” by Eddie Murphy featuring Rick James (Alisa)

Surely, “Party All The Time” was either: a. a rejected SNL sketch; b. an elaborate prank by Rick James meant to embarrass the Murphy family; c. proof that Eddie Murphy was already in decline.

Either way, 20 is plenty. Two is too much. Sometimes, you just have to go dolo.

Amirite?

  • How on, er, Earth did that Buzz Aldrin jawn come to pass?

  • 19. “Little Drummer Boy” by David Bowie and Bing Crosby – that gets the gas face?! If you say so (I still love it though…)

“Over and Over” and “Whatzupwitu” are probably two the five worst songs of my lifetime. I can’t believe anyone ever left the studio after those songs were finally mixed or whatever and thought, “man, that’s good stuff.”

  • Lol most of those songs I hated at some point in time and actually I still hate them now.

I didn’t realize that Nelly actually *sang* Over and Over. Without autotune no-less. I just remember that it was super popular for way too long.

Did anyone else notice that the pictures of the woman supposed to represent Nelly’s ex were of Ciara? Was she even out then?
