  • YES. Man, I love Black Thought. He’s so hungry, even after umpteen years of performing. What I love about this clip is how genuinely happy Pusha T and Malice look to be sharing the stage with Thought. They know how lucky they are. I take it you’ve seen this too, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOLgn9ehuu4

    • whoa. how in the damn did i miss this?

    • D- remember how inescapable this song was freshman year? It holds up surprisingly well.

And of course, gives me more ammunition for next year’s Black Thought Appreciation Week. His flow freaking defines the word.

      • i can’t really think of another MC whose delivery is so percussive.

      • I know, right? I can’t listen to “Grindin'” without thinking of freshman year. This and “Gimme The Liiiiiiggghhht” were inescapable. I heart The Clipse though. Mainly because I didn’t think it was possible to rhyme about absolutely nothing but making and selling coke and yet here they are…

Anyway, I’ve been wondering: Black Thought’s used to collaborating with drummers, bass players, keyboardists, freaking sousaphone players. How much has that affected and influenced Thought’s flow? Would he rap the same way with drum machines and the like?
