Friday Random/Genius Ten

Ever had one of those weeks where you were running on fumes by Friday morning?

Yeah. Us, too.

As a result, we’re putting the random in the Friday Random/Genius Ten. Forget about the genius.

This is just a list of whatever is getting regular burn on our  iPods or CD players or (insert music-playing device that I can’t afford here) as we head into the weekend. Thinking of a coherent theme, at this point, is just much too hard:

1. Earth People by Dr. Octagon (Jamelle)

2. We Major by Kanye West (Shani-o)

3. U Send Me Swingin’ by Mint Condition (universeexpanding)

4. Vaudeville Villain by MF Doom (Jamelle)

5. Cheers 2 U by Playa (Universeexpanding)

6. I Shall Be Released by The Band (Shani-o)

7. Positive Contact by Deltron 3030 (Jamelle)

8. Glow by Nelly Furtado (Shani-o)

9. Before I Let You Go (Can I Get a Kiss Goodnight) by Blackstreet (Universeexpanding)

10. Good Morning by John Legend (Blackink)

Jamelle was on a weird hip-hop kick, Universeexpanding was bumping ’90s R&B, Shani was being Shani and I picked “Good Morning” because: a. I can’t get it out of my head and b. By the time you read this post, it’ll probably be Saturday.

And no, Kanye. You can not talk your shit again.

Enjoy the weekend.

  • Ok, just have to give you dap for recognizing Mint Condition. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat in my car waiting till that song played out on the radio/cd/mp3 player/whatever.

Props on the Playa pick as well. You know your 90’s R&B.

    Thanks for the inspiration.
