  • He was my childhood. Scratch that, he still is.

singer. dancer. genius. will miss you dearly

  • NO. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU MICHAEL.

  • Truly a genius. I’m already frothing at the many mean-spirited reviews of his life.

It’s slowly sinking in. I’m surprised at the tears in my eyes. He seemed like such a tortured soul, this saddens me greatly. My condolences to the Jackson family.

  • I didn’t expect to get all misty, but at certain points last night I did. As I said to G.D. last night, the mourning isn’t just about losing Michael now, but the grieving for what he once was, our bafflement at what he became and ultimately never being able to know what was really going on with him. Thriller came out the year I was born and I love, love, loved Michael – we have video of me singing beat it on a coffee table when I was about 3 or 4. His songs are some of the first I remember knowing by heart. Now that he’s dead and I’m closing in on 30 I feel like my childhood is officially over.

After hearing the news yesterday I was numb the entire night. Anyone between the ages of 20-40, MJ has been a constant. You’ve always known him as the greatest to ever do it, and to hear that this man passed away just doesn’t compute.

I was good until I heard “We are the World” this morning, and lost it at work.
