PostBourgie and Intersectionality.

There seem to be two factions of commenters on this blog: the people who talk about race and the people who talk about gender/sexuality. There is frustratingly little overlap.

We’re not sure why that is. Is privilege as it pertains to gender and sexual identity not a ‘black’ issue? Is ‘black’ stuff too foreign for the people who come here for the feminism stuff?

Intersectionality is too complicated LOL… that and people feel possibly they can’t relate to an aspect of identity that doesnt particularly effect them.

  • I think Steve has it right.

  • I’m more inclined to think that it’s not “can’t relate” as much as it is “feel uncertain about.” That is, not indifference, but hesitancy.
