And Three Other Kennedys Come Out for Hillary.

A few days after Caroline Kennedy and Ted Kennedy threw their endorsements behind Barack Obama, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Kerry Kennedy came out on Hillary’s side in an op-ed with the Los Angeles Times.

The loftiest poetry will not solve these issues. We need a president willing to engage in a fistfight to safeguard and restore our national virtues.

We have worked with Hillary Clinton for 15 years (and in Kathleen’s case, 25 years) and witnessed the power and depth of her convictions firsthand. We’ve seen her formidable work ethic, courage in the face of adversity and her dignity and clear head in crisis. We’ve also seen her two-fisted willingness to enter the brawl when America’s principles are challenged. Her measured rhetoric, political savvy and pragmatism shield the heart of our nation’s most determined and most democratic warrior.

This all just makes me want to sit in on a Kennedy Thanksgiving dinner. There will be gravy. There will be wine. There will be blood.

Remind me again why we as a nation are supposed to give a rat’s ass about what any and everybody bearing that last name thinks.

    Really. I’m a bit fuzzy.

(I, too, would like to sit in on a family meal.. but mostly for the booze.)

  • Because they’re political royalty, heirs to a bright American future full of promise that never came to be!

    or something.

Ted Kennedy is a traitor. He is supposed to have been personal friends of the Clintons.

    Ted Kennedy the traitor.

  • doris: he met with them before he endorsed Obama to let them know his intentions.

In fairness, he probably doesn’t owe them much more than that.

Hillary Clinton does not need Ted or Caroline Kennedy endorsement. She will be our next President.

When people were interviewed in exit polls in Florida, about half of the Democrats said the Ted Kennedy endorsement was important, and a majority of those who thought so voted for Obama, according to NPR. So it looks like it does matter to voters.
